Understanding AI Adoption in Institutional Investment Management – Have Your Say

In March 2026, Distinctive Insights published its Distinctive Signals report on AI in the front office of institutional investment management. That report drew on aggregated analysis of ten technology vendors to identify the capability patterns, technical architectures and workflow changes reshaping how investment teams operate.

Alongside it, we are releasing the DistinctionMap – a detailed companion publication providing individual profiles of each vendor in the research cohort. Together, the two reports form a comprehensive picture of how AI capabilities are developing across this market.

The third element of this research package is primary data. We have designed a short survey for investment management practitioners to capture how AI is actually being deployed in front office workflows today. The results will tell us where the vendor landscape analysis aligns with live institutional experience – and where it does not.

The survey covers five stages of the front office investment process: strategy and planning, research and idea generation, portfolio construction, implementation and trading, and portfolio monitoring. It takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

Responses are collected on a strictly aggregate basis. No individual or organisational response will be identified or identifiable in any output.

A detailed findings report – covering themes, trends and how primary data refines the research analysis – will be made available to all survey participants and to Distinctive Insights subscribers. A summary will be made more broadly available.
